The epic UK charity Surfers Against Sewage (protecting our waters since 1990) have launched a massively ambitious campaign to highlight the value of surfing waves and beaches, and encourage Parliament to debate legislation in order to recognise and specifically protect surfing waves as a cultural, social, economic and environmental asset to coastal communities. They have even already enlisted the support of legends such as Kelly Slater and Rob Machado and musician Ben Howard.
But more than that, they are aiming for a whopping 100,000 signatures.
It is a very worthwhile campaign that goes to the heart of what we do. To put it simply, no waves = no surf.
So please support it as much as you can, sign up here or sign up to Surfers Against Sewage. Even if you aren’t a surfer, if you love the ocean, then this is for you too.
